Gaelscoil Laighean is a primary co-educational school whose main aim is to fully educate the child through the medium of Irish. The school is under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta na Scoileanna Lán-Ghaeilge, the umbrella managerial structure for all-Irish schools, and functions in accordance with the rules of the Department of Education and Skills. A child centred curriculum is in place which recognises the value and uniqueness of each child and where everyone is encouraged to develop to their full potential. We strive to provide a peaceful, caring environment in which all aspects of the pupil: intellectual, physical, cultural, social and emotional development are nurtured. We encourage the children to participate in every aspect of our Irish culture — language, games, music, dance and traditions. Parental participation and support is an important aspect of school life.

Gaelscoil Laighean is now in its first year at the permanent location on Mount Anville Road, D14RF67. We are a developing school, this means each year the school adds a new class , up to 6th class. We will have Junior Infants up to 4th class in 2024. The school day commences at 8:30am and the Naíonáin (infant classes) finish at 1:10pm except for the first fortnight only when Junior Infants finish ag 11:30am
